Amy White, a National Board Certified Teacher (NBCT), has been an educator since 2010, teaching both elementary intermediate grades (4-5th) and middle school.
As an equity leader, she has served in various roles, including:
Working as an Equity Strategy partner for NEA's Induction Institute, supporting local union campaigns for increasing retention of early career educators, particularly educators of color. This has included support for implementation and sustainability strategies, professional learning, and individual coaching for white equity leader development.
Facilitating professional learning for WEA's Culturally Responsive Classroom Management (CRCM) series.
Providing local, district-wide professional learning, both as a contractor and as a Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA) for Central Kitsap School District from 2021-2024.
She is also passionate about building community, especially with students, through facilitating class meetings grounded in the value of "treat everyone with dignity."
Amy lives in Washington State with her spouse. Some of her favorite things include reading, drinking tea, taking naps, and journaling. She is currently pursuing a Master's of Education in Culturally Sustaining Education from the University of Washington.
